Fiona McCarthy was born in Dublin and is a self taught maker, working in different media, from garment construction, to fashion and textiles. This interest began as a child when she would make her own clothes based on templates from old patterns.
After finishing school she completed various short courses at home and abroad in garment construction, printing and life drawing.
Fiona returned to Ireland with her family and settled in ‘lovely’ Leitrim, after many years spent wandering.
She is currently producing a series of products based on the characters of Mabel and Arnt.
